Welcome to International Youth Meeting Dachau
The 34th International Youthmeeting took place from July 30th to August 12th 2016. Great commendation and gratitude is due to everyone who was involved somehow – our participants, our teamers, our eye-witnesses as well as the many helpers and engaged people ‘around’! We had an awesome time together, filled with deeper insights, open-minded conversations and new meetings and friendships. We’ve been also recognised pretty well in the public – here’s the link to the (unfortunately only German) articles in the press. Now we’re already planning the 35th International Youth Meeting Dachau from July 29th to August 11th. If you’re interested in becoming a teamer next year, here you’ll find therefore all information.
The International Youth Meeting in Dachau offers participants from all over the world a place, where they can deal with questions to the past, present and future.
Every summer about 100 young people from about 25 nations come to Dachau, to deal with questions about National Socialism and today forms of exclusion, racism and discrimination.
Survivors of the Holocaust speak about their experience during persecution, in concentration- or work camps and in the resistance. There will be workshops, talks with eyewitnesses excursions and trips.Of course there will be also time for personal talks, fun, sports and get to explore how the historical places changed in time. Through the meeting of people with different cultural and social backgrounds, history will be experience in a multiperspective way and participants learn to see historical events through a different angel of view.
On these pages you can get information on who we are and what we do at the International Youth Meeting Dachau.
