The International Youth Meeting Dachau will take place this year from 29 July to 11 August 2024 under the new management of Anja Schuller-Müller.
After Stefanie Steinbauer was in charge of the IYM 2022 for the last time as project manager on its 40th anniversary, a successor has been found in Anja Schuller-Müller. Her degree in Classical Studies on the one hand and her many years of experience in the field of memorial site education on the other have led to a special focus on connections between the past and present. In her work, it is important to her to raise awareness, especially among young people, of how dictatorships come about and that democracies are not a foregone conclusion, but must be actively shaped in order to survive.
“In recent years, I have mainly worked in the field of historical-political education and also have experience in museology and cultural management. As a long-standing consultant at the Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial, I find it very exciting to be returning to my old place of work in a new role. I am looking forward to supporting the team in the planning and realisation of the IYM 2023 and hope that we can welcome many participants,” says Anja Schuller-Müller.
